How Often Should a WETT Inspection Be Done?

There’s no fixed rule for how often a WETT inspection must be done, but many professionals recommend having one every five years, or anytime you:

  • Install or modify a wood-burning appliance

  • Move into a home with an existing system

  • Notice changes in performance or signs of wear

  • Need documentation for home insurance

Regular inspections help catch issues early and keep your system operating safely. Some insurance providers may also request an updated WETT inspection after a certain number of years.
