What Level of WETT Inspection Do I Need?

WETT inspections follow the SITE® protocol, which outlines three levels of inspection:
Visual, Technical, and Invasive.
For most insurance policies and real estate transactions, a Level 1 Visual Inspection is sufficient. This is a non-invasive review of the accessible components of your wood-burning system, such as the appliance, venting, and clearances.
However, if the inspector sees signs of concern—like damage, improper installation, or missing documentation—they may recommend a Technical (Level 2) or even Invasive (Level 3) inspection for further evaluation.
Your inspector can help determine the most appropriate level based on your needs and the condition of the system.
